"You've Got Mail." Every detail from a themed "Shabbat at the movies"—recipes, DIYs, tiny tablescape moments, and the occasion behind this special night.
This is such a cute idea!! We’re so here for the nichier niche and love everything about your Shabbat at the Movies! Hope you continue to do more. You’re really such a light. 🤍
aw, thank you so much Allie and Becca! :) I appreciate the support and kind words so much. Will do my best to whip up some more of these themed dinners, likely in 2025—stay tuned.
I love everything about your Shabbat at the Movies- that shows how much you care and love your family. It's such a fun way for the family to be together. In terms of a movie I'd be inspired to do something similar... maybe I'd do Eat, Pray, Love but only focus on the Italian delights. Or else maybe a Wes Anderson movie like the Grand Budapest Hotel. Also, on another not a movie theme note, I've been to murder mystery dinners (not really appropriate for Shabbat)- however my host had gone all out- so it was an immersive experience for sure!
Oohhhh, a Wes Anderson theme is SUCH a good idea! Writing that one down—thanks, Emily! :) And yes, I'm a fan of anything immersive or interactive; always makes for a more interesting evening. Appreciate this thoughtful comment and so glad to have you here following along.
So so spot on and what a great adaptation! This is one of my most favourite movies too-the one I keep downloaded on my phone in case I end up without internet on a train or plane and need entertainment! I ordered a Zabar’s mug in solidarity ♥️
Love this!! My favorite part of the movie is how dialed in they are to each other - she totally gets that his worst fear is just being a suit, and he totally gets that her worst fear is that she’s insignificant, and they’re so mean to each other about it but that’s because they absolute understand each other
Your pencil sharpener memory brought back an old memory for me. We had a hand crank manual pencil sharpener (I’m old!) and after sharpening my Laurentian 24 pack of coloured pencils the day before school started I always got a blister from the hand cranking!

This is GENIUS. I love the idea of movie themed Shabbat dinners!
Yay! Thanks, Cynthia! :)

It's the BEST. A forever all-time favorite. And I'm so glad you got yourself a Zabar's mug! :) Thanks for watching/reading!
Well, you might have to do When Harry Met Sally next… cookie-fied Katz’s Deli seems like the way to go!
Excellent idea!! I think I must. Might have to wait until January once all the Hanukkah madness is behind me...but we'll see. Stay tuned!
Absolute perfection !
Thank you so much! Definitely a fun one. :)
This was just simply delightful. Thank you.
Thanks, Afton! :)

Oh my gosh, YES. This is so beautifully conveyed - never thought of it that way. And thanks for reading/watching!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️ love your work!
This is adorable! My only special Shabbat theme is “dairy Shabbat” which gets everyone excited but I might have to make more of an effort 😂
That sounds *delicious* and is certainly more than enough effort! Sign me up! :) And thanks for the comment!!

Love a hand crank sharpener! At least those weren't as loud. Genuinely a bit traumatized remembering the electric one my parents owned... :)
COULD YOU BE ANY CUTER?!?!?!?! This is just the best!!!! Happy fall, y'all!!
THANK YOU!!!! Such a kind comment. Appreciate you!
Love this!
